Industrial engineering is concerned with the optimization of various aspects of an organization, such as improvements, efficiencies, processes, installation of integrated systems and others. It demonstrates knowledge and skill in mathematics, programming, business and social sciences through designing and implementing solutions. It is unique from other engineering programs in that it includes the business factor as well as the human factor in processes.
IISE Concordia Chapter is a representative of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, an international, non-profit association solely dedicated to industrial and systems engineering. It is the world’s largest professional society in support of this profession by providing leadership, education, training, research, and development.
Our primary objectives are to provide mentorship to students and enhance their soft and technical skills to prepare them for their profession. In order to do so, we organize many events throughout the year such as plant tours, workshops, panels, social events, academic competitions, networking gatherings, and tutorials to expand the students’ knowledge about the industrial engineering field. The dynamic team of student executives acts as a bridge between the Concordia student body and external organizations to show students various career paths that are available to them.
